MEADOW HOUSE

With stunning triple height windows framing bucolic views of the Berkshire mountains, this new construction mid-century inspired home was designed by our firm as a respite for a young Boston-based family. Nestled into the rolling meadow landscape, the home combines generous family spaces, tucked-away bedrooms, and a secret sauna.

View Project Story

As soon as you enter, the view pulls you straight into the main living space where the kitchen, dining, and living areas come together. The windows span the entire wall and stay filled with golden light most of the day, so we kept the room quiet with low furnishings and plenty of closed cabinetry to hide the practical parts of everyday life. The nineteen-foot island sits at the center, grounding the open plan with a simple, rugged presence that ties back to the landscape. Everything was designed to feel calm and functional without distracting from the outdoors.

This home was shaped around the site itself. Perched on a quiet country road and looking out to Catamount and the reservoir below, it needed to feel connected to the land in a way that was subtle and restrained. We balanced clean architecture with materials that carry the warmth of nature, along with vintage pieces that bring softness and history into the space. Whether the family arrives for a summer weekend or a fall getaway, the house invites them to slow down, take in the surroundings, and settle into a place that feels effortlessly tied to the landscape.
