The initial focus of the renovation and design was the kitchen, the heart of the home. With its double-vaulted workspace and large dining area, we aimed to make the kitchen inviting and warm while ensuring it remained highly efficient and durable, perfect for a busy, growing family with lots of meal prep.

These elements extended into the other spaces, focusing on honoring the historic components of the home: the fieldstone fireplace, made from stones sourced throughout the property, and the comforting den where the owner did his homework as a child.

The screened-in porch is key for entertaining; with both a seating and dining area, it is perfect for a variety of gatherings and mosquito-free evenings while watching the cows graze in the pastures below. When the weather turns cold, the dining room offers spacious comfort next to the kitchen’s wood-burning stove.
